Edit 30th August – the issue with custom speakers: For the game to actually realise that they are speakers, one would have to create a mod that tells the stereos to use the available speakers on a lot and not just the one that EA created (that’s how theirs work – the bhavs all call the guid for their speaker). I understand a little of the bhavs but not enough to make this mod. It would be great if anyone with more knowledge would do that and then we could have working speakers galore.

OK, so I have now uploaded 2 versions of the speakers. For one of them I cloned a regular moderate stereo system, so it works like a stereo in that you can click on it, start/stop the music, change stations & workout etc. I have also moved the effects upwards, so it doesn’t look silly when the notes or sound vibrations show. For the 2nd version I cloned the community lot classical music speaker. It DOES work at home (I edited it’s properties), but it cannot be switched on or off. As the community lot speakers play music “automagically” all the time, they work like that on home lots, too. Both have unique Guids, so you can use both in your game at the same time. I rather like them as community lot speakers myself.

Sorry it took so long to do this but I’m back to work after my vacation and I just haven’t had the time.

Edit 17th August: Sorry, but I have to take the speakers down for now. Firstly, I put the wrong one up, and secondly, when I played more thoroughly tonight, I discovered a mistake in the bhav edited one. Hopefully they will be back up soon.

Fiddledeedee extracted a lot of items from Half Life 2 and made them into deco items for the Sims 2. Go grab them. They are fantastic! I’ve loved just about all of them but my game could do with more electronics and so, I decided to convert some of them into functioning objects. The tv functions just like a normal tv, sims can watch/work-out etc. The speakers function like the normal wall speakers in-game, blaring out music. I have added wall shadows to both items and the screen to the t.v., so that it works properly.
