This post will probably be only interesting for you, as a downloader, if you like additional slots on objects and you will, if you like to put decorative objects on top of everything. Slots are usually places in an object or in the game that can hold another object or a sim. A chair has a slot for the sim to sit in, an endtable has a routing slot, so that a sim can place stuff on it and it has a container slot, so that the player can put something there.
I have been wanting to try adding slots to dressers for a while now, and last weekend I had some time (kiddie wasn’t home) to study dressers and slots. Now, some of you may say, well Pets added slots to low dressers, so it’s not needed - BUT I don’t have Pets and didn’t know that before. I also did not know that some low dressers after Pets could even have objects put on them. However, they can only hold very very small objects like the small vase or the sunflower in a vase in the buy/decor/plants section. You can’t put any larger (or what the game sees a as “heavy”) objects on them at all. Their “support strength” isn’t high enough. None of the objects I tried from the sculpture section could be placed. I guess that is the reason I was frustrated about reading that some dressers can hold objects and any object I tried didn’t work! I thought my game was borked.
I successfully added slots to a dresser that I was working on - from scratch, there were no container slots for placing decorative items at all; it holds just about any type of sculpture, lamp or plant! Yay! I’m so happy it worked and I just had to post about it. =D
If you'd like to say thankyou, why not do that with a cup of coffee? Thankyou =)
